Image: BARF!
Commissioned by Esso for Canada’s centennial celebrations, vomited into existence by one Mr. George B arris. Three apparently still exist. Some people like it, their feeling are dirty and wrong. (olds toronado under all that, interior is cool, I’ll grant it that much)

But It’s Canada’s. ...(dash throws up)

I like the interior, but the exterior is definately from the
“different from how it left the factory
is always better” school of car customization, which is most certainly not true.

Send it off a cliff for science

I’m with you. The interior is kinda cool, but the rest ... woof!
Not at all surprised it was done by Barris. I really can’t understand why he’s held in such regard.

Not to speak ill of the dead, but Barris was a hack, and he didn’t design the batmobile, he just bolted bat-crap to it.

I believe he also had a tendency to take credit for a lot of
shit he didn’t do.

Yeah like Dean Jeffries Monkee M obile, Which I believe he was selling replicas of and claiming as his design. Just to be clear the Batmobile KICKS SO MUCH ASS, but he mostly added toggle switches to it. “turbines to speed old chum”

Those wheel arches with speed holes are su pposed to be bullhorns (TORO-nado)

Exactly!

If the design is good, all you need to do is remove a few detroity trinkets is my school of custom.

I wonder how man y Toronado got hacked by Barris.

Ugh, it might have been less offensive if he had just bolted brass horns on
to the Toronado’s stock
fenders.

Sectional furniture in a coupe? Neat.

Here’s something else done by George Barrister. I found it when looking for what he did to the Fast and Furious Eclipse, which he owned for a time.
It’s very possible that the claims that he designed it are false but it fits his M.O. if tacking crap all over a car

That’s formerly a C-5 vette? Whether or not you like corvettes, 99.9% of custom vettes are not an improvement
Not a Barris, but not a triumph of design either.

Someone was playing Burnout when they designed that.

It was done by a guy who used to work for Barris,
though
, so it might be fair to say there’s some influence.
